6 Places to Elope in Dayton, OH
Maybe the Coronavirus has made a mess of your 2020 wedding plans and you’ve decided to say f*ck you, COVID-19, I’m still getting married!? Or maybe you’ve always wanted an intimate celebration with your closest family friends and now's your time! But either way I know you're definitely wondering where you should hold your intimate ceremony locally.
First off, GO YOU!
You do the damn thing. Size doesn’t matter when you’re marrying the love of your freaking life.
Plus, you can always save your celebration with friends and family for next year! We’ve even heard of couples having their celebration on their one year anniversary!
Either way, we happily support your decision to do what makes your heart happy. We LOVE documenting intimate ceremonies just as much as huge raging parties and here’s a few places we suggest checking out!
We’re happy to provide more suggestions to you, just reach out!
The Steam Plant
Due to the pandemic, The Steam Plant and a lot of local Dayton venues are offering elopement packages right now. Can you imagine an intimate ceremony, in a HUGE reception hall? That juxtaposition would be incredibly rad.
Psst. Another great Dayton option is The Brightside!
Hills & Dales
We recently documented a March elopement at Hills & Dales.

Paw Paw Pavilion made a great backdrop, just imagine that fireplace draped in flowy garland from Sherwood Florist or Floral V!? Major heart eyes, friends.
Pro tip: Check in with Five Rivers MetroParks to make sure you can book a permit first!
Oakes Quarry Park
Another great location is Oakes Quarry Park. We visited the quarry after David & Elizabeth’s ceremony at Hills & Dales (see above), and all I could imagine was someone having the sweetest little ceremony near the rocks or lake. It would be romantic AND stunning and I’m giving you permission to fully steal that idea!
Always make sure to check in with the park to make sure you’re following their guidelines.
Something Old Dayton - Gem City Popup Weddings
While Olivia & Brian’s wedding wasn’t a pop up wedding, they had the sweetest intimate ceremony and celebration at Something Old Dayton. Something Old is offering pop up weddings through Gem City Pop Up Wedding Co. The best part is they do all the work and you just show up, WHAT!? Yup! It’s that easy.
The Honey Farm
Our friends over at The Honey Farm are crafting elopement packages for this year on their private farm. PLUS they have access to Lost & Found Rentals and I bet they’ll help style up something amazing for you and your closest loved ones.
The Courthouse
YES! Yes you can get married in your local courthouse, and YES, it can be stunning! Just look at the Troy and Oakwood courthouses from these intimate weddings. The ceremonies were lovely and those buildings had me swooning.
Have another local venue in mind?
Check in with them and see if their offering elopement collections this year, they just might be.
2020 has been a wild ride and we’re all here to be flexible to make it through together.
